Chablis

The village of Chablis is situated 122 miles southeast of Paris, and has some of the most difficult growing conditions in all of Burgundy. The harsh, cold winters, frequent spring frosts and marginal summer weather that often leaves the grapes unripe at harvest time, make each vintage a challenge. The region is comprised of 5,500 acres planted entirely with Chardonnay grapes with 1/3 of the 5,500 acres of Grand Cru and Premier Cru quality.
The wines produced here are known to be delicious, zesty, dry wines with great clarity and freshness; the perfect accompaniment with shell fish.

Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu – A premier cru that rivals the Grand Crus, Mont de Milieu consists of 84 acres that are oriented to the southeast giving it more sunshine and a microclimate that is slightly warmer than other premier crus. Made of 100% Chardonnay, this wine is full-bodied and bone dry, with a tantalizing bouquet of grapes, citrus and figs. The lively acidity leads into a crisp and rich finish. Classically flinty and earthy.
